The GP. SDC series of clutches are Normally off. They are designed for accuracy and for backlash free transmission of torque. When the current is supplied to the stator (Coil winding), a magnetic field is generated, and the armature is pulled towards the rotor. When the supply is turned off, the spring action of the diaphragm (spring plate) ensures a rapid disengagement free from any residual torque.
